Panadol Actifast is an analgesic and antipyretic. It is effective for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and relief of fever such as headache, migraine, musculoskeletal pain and muscle pain, period pain, pain of osteoarthritis, toothache, pain following dental procedures/tooth extraction, sore throat and pain and fever after vaccination.

How to take Panadol Actifast?

For oral administration only.

Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over:

  • Take 2 tablets up to four times daily.
  • Do not take more than 8 tablets (4000 mg) in 24 hours.
  • Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.


Panadol Actifast not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Before you take Panadol Actifast

Do not take Panadol Actifast in case of:

Known or previous history of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or
any other excipients (ingredient in the product).

Take special care with Panadol Actifast:

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • This product contains Paracetamol. Do not take other Paracetamol containing medications.
  • Keep this and all medication out of sight and reach of children.

Please see your doctor if your symptoms do not improve. If symptoms persist or get worsen or new symptoms occur consult a doctor because these could be signs of a serious condition.

Medical consultation should be sought before taking Panadol Actifast if:

You who have been diagnosed with liver or kidney impairment. Underlying liver disease increases the risk of paracetamol related liver damage. (Because Paracetamol is metabolised in the liver and excreted by the kidney in urine).

Each tablet contains 173 mg of sodium (346 mg sodium per 2 tablet dose). To be taken into consideration by patients on a controlled sodium diet.

Ability to perform tasks that require judgment, motor or cognitive skills: Unlikely to cause an effect on ability to drive and use machines.

Taking other medicines


  • The liver toxic effects of Panadol Actifast may be increased by the use of alcohol.
  • The anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins may be enhanced by prolonged regular daily use of paracetamol with increased risk of bleeding: occasional doses have no significant effect.

Pregnancy & breast feeding

  • Human and animal studies with paracetamol have not identified any risk to pregnancy or embryo-foetal development or lactation or the breast-fed offspring. Paracetamol crosses the placental barrier and is excreted in breast milk.
  • Seek medical advice before taking this product if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Possible side effects

Stop using this product and consult your doctor immediately if:

  • You experience allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching. sometimes with breathing problems or swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face.
  • You experience a skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers.
  • You have previously experienced breathing problems or bronchospasm with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. and experience a similar reaction with this product.
  • You experience unexplained bruising or bleeding.
  • You experienced liver dysfunction related symptoms or signs.

These reactions are rare. If any of the side effects gets serious or if you notice any side effects not listed in this page stop taking Panadol Actifast and tell your doctor.



  • Immediate medical management is required in the event of overdose for the risk of liver failure, even if symptoms of overdose are not present.
  • In massive over dosage exceeding 10g of Paracetamol may cause liver failure. Early symptoms may include pallor, nausea, vomiting. (diaphoresis) and general malaise.
  • Clinical and laboratory evidence of liver damage may not be apparent until 48 to 72 hours past ingestion. Overdose should be promptly treated by gastric lavage followed by intravenous N-acetylcysteine or methionine without waiting for the results of plasma paracetamol levels. General supportive measures must be available. Additional antidote therapy is normally considered in light of further plasma paracetamol levels and the time elapsed since ingestion. In all cases of suspected overdose, prompt medical attention is critical for adults as well as for children, even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.

Sodium bicarbonate

High doses of sodium bicarbonate would be expected to induce gastrointestinal symptoms including belching and nausea. In addition, high doses of sodium bicarbonate may cause hypernatraemia, electrolytes should be monitored and patients managed accordingly.


Each tablet contains: 500 mg paracetamol.

Other Ingredients: Tablet core: Sodium bicarbonate, maize starch, pregelatinised starch, povidone, potassium sorbate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, carnauba wax. Film coat: Opadry 2 Y-22-7719 white; titanium dioxide (E171), polydextrose, hypromellose, triacetin and macrogols.

How to store Panadol Actifast?

  • Store below 25 C.
  • Store in original container. Protect from Light and Heat.
  • This product is protected in a sealed blister. Do not use if blister is broken.
